Biography
Lisa has 25 years of experience in workers’ compensation case management highlighted by: 21 years of supervisory and management; ten years as a senior branch manager for a national case management company; her expertise also includes nineteen years of orthopedic, neurology, repetitive trauma, traumatic brain injuries and back injuries. During her tenure as Branch Manager, she built an effective case management department, designed a pro-active cost containment program, and led the development of a quality management program identified by independent reviewers as one of the best in the industry. She re-engineered the referral and authorization processes, which significantly reduced medical expenses, and presented managed case management programs to the employer’s and insured companies.
As a Managed Care Director, she implemented and obtained a new Certificate of Coverage, implemented operational enhancements and secured regulatory approvals. She has consistently completed assignments within designated timeframes. She also led the formation of integrated delivery systems, developed and conducted managed care educational programs, developed a community-based managed care program, designed RFPs for managed care related issues. In addition, she developed a physician report card and medical management reports, and worked with clients to design and evaluate medical management information systems. In addition she successfully completed advanced training in elder care services.
For the last 13 years she has worked with attorneys and trust officers on long-term care cases.
Lisa holds her RN, BSN from the University of Kentucky. She is a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association and Kentucky Self Insured’s Association. She received her Certified Case Manager in 1995. As a manager for Crawford & Company her branch won the Branch Quality Award for all of Healthcare Management in 2003 and she was selected as one of seven Healthcare Managers from Crawford to participate in the CEO’s Strategic Leadership Conference at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2001.
In 2005, Lisa and her husband, Darren, started their own case management company, Preferred Case Management, LLC in Lexington, KY.
Preferred Case Management offers Field MCM, Utilization Review, Vocational Case Management, Peer Reviews, Legal Nurse Consulting, Long-Term and Short-Term Disability Case Management, Elder Care, Trust Planning Case Management and as well as numerous other specialty services.
